Hello! As you should all know, this month is our communication month. Of course this is the end of the year too and I know that we all may have other things to do… (and I know that some of you are spending good time on holidays under the tropical sun ;) ) So I won't be disappointed if you wait January the 1st to post your articles ;). We have two types of communication to achieve:
* communication toward our users or future users * communication toward our upstream projects (the applications involved in DoudouLinux) Concerning our users, I published a template article (http://www.doudoulinux.org/web/english/tell-about-it/communication-supports/article/template-promotion-article) that could be used/adapted on any website related to technology and eventually free software. Of course you may have to translate it before into your own language, in this case please also put a translation on our website. If you feel that you won't have the necessary time to search for target websites, please just provide us the translations and we'll manage to find some websites in your language. Usually the keywords Linux and kids give interesting results, you can also search for our competitors such as Qimo, Edubuntu, Skolelinux, etc. Website audience can be evaluated using this online service: http://www.visualizetraffic.com/ NB: I ask you to post on technical website only right now. To enter the general public, we need a perfect product and I don't think we have it yet. On our website I'm about to reorganize and update the page “They talk about it…” (http://www.doudoulinux.org/web/english/tell-about-it/article/they-talk-about-it). I would also like to have a dedicated page for the report on Tomsk TV. If someone can find the time to subtitle the video with its English translation, this would be perfect. If any volunteer I'll upload the video file and provide the text thanks to Sergey. Now concerning upstream communication, we have to send our translations back to the application authors. Gcompris has been pending since nearly 2 months but I guess it's not the only application that needs contributing back to upstream. For large projects such as LXDE, we should certainly contact them once only and explain how we use their good work in DoudouLinux :). I think our application translation pages should contain information on how to contribute upstream. Please mention our project DoudouLinux when contacting upstream authors :). Thank you in advance.
