Hello, Amazing news! I wonder what was the reason of increased interest in EN-segment? I agree with January the 18th for publication in Linuxfr and please pass my hearty congratulations to your daughter (a smile is attached).

Here comes the time of the longly awaited monthly stats. Usually I try to speak of the former month stats only but, as I'm a bit late and this beginning of year is fast, I'll also have words for the past 10 days. Let's start with the visitors stats. On our website the visitor map has been updated on Jan. the 6th, please look at: http://www3.clustrmaps.com/fr/counter/maps.php?user=42cb8840 You'll see that we've now reached 30,000 visitors coming from 146 countries. France is the first country to reach 10,000 visitors (cocoricoooo ;) ). I attached two world map files named “website-stats-2010-12.png” and “website-stats-2011-01.png”. They show a darker blue color on countries with more visitors, for December and January. A shift to America, China, Brazil, Italy is obvious, a bit less for Portugal. NB: These days, we have between 500 and 1,500 visitors per day due to the article on WebUpd8 and the entry in DistroWatch. We have already seen more visitors in January than in December. Nevertheless this should not continue this way but decrease during the coming week to a more standard 150-200 per day. Concerning the download figures, we have reached yesterday the number of 9,000 CD's (6,3 TB). I attached the image “DDL-download-stats.png“ which shows the number of CD's per language. The raw figures are the following (nbr. of CD's): ar de en es fr it nl pl pt 158 76 2 173 123 2 941 143 31 13 159 ro ru sr tr uk vi 140 2 965 7 8 5 132 This time Russia is winning! :p To conclude I attached the latest image “download-countries-2010-12.png” which shows the proportion of downloading countries for December. Of course France, Russia and USA are far ahead, but Romania and Serbia are quite noticeable too. NB: as for visitors, downloads are between 50 GB and 150 GB per day (70-215 CD's) but should decrease to 20-30 GB within a week. To conclude I think it's now time to bet on the day on which the magic 10,000 CD's downloaded message will occur! I give you a clue: I intend to publish soon another article on Linuxfr, which usually leads to downloads as high as what we are currently seeing. I bet on January the 18th, the birthday of my littlest girl, and you? Cheers, JM. PS: to reply to the list, click “answer all” in your messaging software, otherwise you're answering only the author, me in this case. PS2: still don't know the prize to win for this bet :p
