Hello! I recall you that our next release will be 2011-02 due to late February. We still have 4 weeks to do the necessary job.
Concerning languages, we'll have at least 3 more officially supported languages, Dutch, German and Chinese. I may add a new demo language, likely Indonesian (I won't have the time to setup a non-Latin environment such as needed for Hindi or Japanese). We can expect the following status for translations, please correct me if I'm lying ;) : * Arabic → CD 30% translated * Chinese → CD 100% + few web pages * Dutch → CD 100% + few web pages * English → 100% * French → 100% * German → CD 100% + few web pages * Romanian → 100% * Russian → 100% * Serbian → CD 50% translated + main web pages * Spanish → CD 80% translated + main web pages * Ukrainian → CD 40% translated NB: when I'm writing CD 100%, I don't take into account applications that would not be on Transifex but still require translation. I ask translators to target the 18th February for the latest translation files to include in this release. As there are more and more CD's to upload, I'll need 2-3 days to upload all of them! Concerning our website, we'll have to update documentation. If you want the CD to include the latest documentation available, the target is still the 18th February. Indeed PDF documentation is built from web pages then included in the CD. Currently we don't have so many pages to update because we're late for development :(. Marian will give us news when he detects changes in the English section. If you look at our road map, you'll see the following list of technical tasks: * redesign the hardware issue tool interface → not started yet (web page wanted) * redesign the persistence tool interface → not started yet, I fear it's too much work to be done *and* tested before end of February * provide a single image file for the CD and the USB key → trials failed until now, should likely be postponed * write a nice interface to set date and time → on the road (Richard) (web page wanted) On the other hand, new tasks have been added: * a nice interface to set the session menu → on the road (JM) (web page wanted) * additional sessions (pedagogical recommendations + sound volume) → not started (web page update required) Finally there are also bug fixes to achieve, this is why I don't think our road map need to be adapted. To conclude, some words about graphic design: * a new banner on our website for next release would be appreciated (I'd like to change it for each release) * we can start CD graphical design by changing the boot image and the session menu image, no matter if it is changed again when we'll have agreed on our mascot and our heros I hope everyone has identified where (s)he has to provide his effort, if you believe that things are not so clear, please let me know. Cheers, JM. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
