Hello,

Next release is not so far, it is then necessary to recap what is done and what
is still to be done. Hope you'll find yourself interested in helping next
release to be published quicker! ;)

Cheers,
JM.

Translations
------------

Translation progress is good. However I fear that we still won't have any page
to show on our website for Chinese, Dutch and German by the end of the month.
If you have some more time to spend on the project, please try to translate the
main pages: homepage, download page, quick start. You can ask Marian or Sergey
to help you start translating our website (and you probably need me to create
an account for you).

Development
-----------

We are still late and won't be able to redesign the persistence tool interface.
But we have a new tool to set the menu of activities and there will soon be
additional sessions (activities) thanks to TSPU collaboration. We would like to
close the following tickets for next release:

* Monitor not detected (https://gna.org/bugs/?17228)
* Pysycache is still in English on the Russian CD (https://gna.org/bugs/?17592)
* Vkeybd cannot be translated (https://gna.org/bugs/?16870)
* Gamine cannot be translated (https://gna.org/bugs/?16895)
* LiveUSB-write: crash due to wrong number of %s in Russian PO file
(https://gna.org/bugs/?17360)
* Setting sync value to auto cause screen chaos (https://gna.org/bugs/?17404)
* Discard logging as 'nobody' from GDM (https://gna.org/bugs/?17512)
* Persistence is most probably not available on ntfs
(https://gna.org/bugs/?16040)
* Copying data from basic sessions is not easy (https://gna.org/bugs/?16967)
* Screen resolution is not saved when persistence is enabled
(https://gna.org/bugs/?17237)

* Add a nice GUI to set time (https://gna.org/task/?7174)
* Generate a single modified KDE i18n package per language
(https://gna.org/task/?7259)
* Set of gCompris apps for 2-7 and 7+ kids (https://gna.org/task/index.php?7289)
* kTuberling - replace English sound with russian for Russian version
(https://gna.org/task/index.php?7294)
* Write a nice interface to set the session menu
(https://gna.org/task/index.php?7300)
* Modify algorythm generating Russian names of web-pages
(https://gna.org/task/index.php?7302)
* A nice GUI for the hardware report tool (https://gna.org/task/index.php?7245)
* Insert translated welcome texts in boot image
(https://gna.org/task/index.php?7253)
* Force video driver based on lspci result (https://gna.org/task/index.php?7267)
* Use hardware signature to remember video settings
(https://gna.org/task/index.php?7268)
* New release banner (https://gna.org/task/index.php?7312)

Don't be afraid of the list length, many tickets are on status “Ready for test”
:). Nevertheless there is still a lot of work :(. So please take the necessary
time to download the latest builds available, test them and comment or close
the corresponding tickets. I haven't been able to build new CD's during the
past 3-4 days but I plan to upload new builds onto the dailybuild section very
soon.

Documentation
-------------

Here is a list of the missing web pages (not sure whether this is exhaustive or
not):

* Setting screen resolution (with the case of 2 screens)
* Setting menu of activities
* Setting date and time
* Reporting an issue (with the hardware report tool)

Pages to be modified:

* All the pages speaking of the menu of activities → replace the word session
with activity

New tips, tricks, known issues:

* Copying data from other activities (for example copying the draws of the
TuxPaint activity from the Whole DDL activity)
* Persistence unavailable on Ntfs

> Hello!
