Hello there!

We are closer and closer to the next release date and I saw some of our
translators in strong activity this week! Unfortunately we are still late
concerning code development so we'll have to revise our road map a bit. We also
have to write new pages and to list those pages needing to be modified.

Cheers, JM.

Team
====

* A third student at Tomsk university joined Julia and Ruslan to translate DDL
into German, his name is Alia.

Translations
============

* I received a lot of fresh PO files for Romanian (Marian), Spanish (Yago) and
German (TSPU).

* It seems possible to get fresher PO files for LX apps from
http://pootle.lxde.bsnet.se/ (thanks Sergey for the link). I still have to look
at a way to automatically fetch PO files from this site. In a meanwhile if you
have translations to do for LX apps, first look at this link!

* Sergey sent me audio translations for Ktuberling and wrote a page on how to
translate sounds in this application (see
http://www.doudoulinux.org/web/english/contribute/translate-doudoulinux/translating-applications/article/how-to-translate-ktuberling-0-4).

* Marian sent me Romanian lists of words for Khangman. I invite you to check
that the word lists in Khangman fit children.

* A new resource has been created on Transifex for the new tool to set the
session menu now called “menu of activities” (see
http://www.transifex.net/projects/p/doudoulinux/resource/doudoulinux-sessions/).

CDROM
=====

* The first official Chinese CD was released on Monday evening.

* New official versions for Dutch, Romanian, Russian and Spanish have been
published too.

* The interface to set the session menu is completed (see
http://blog.doudoulinux.org/post/2011/02/01/Graphical-interface-to-set-the-session-menu).
 Let's now call this menu “Menu of activities”, which is easier to understand
:).

Graphics
========

* Elisa and Benoît are working on creating characters.

* Elisa started to work on a new website banner for next release.

* We're discussing about the opportunity to setup an automated way to translate
SVG draws. This way we could add texts in draws that would be translated using
standard PO files.

Website
=======

* Modified public pages: Release notes, Team and contributors, Translator's
FAQ. Please propagate the changes if you're concerned.

* New private page: Welcoming new contributors.

* Updated the Spanish web page layout (Yago fixed its translation).

* I modified the private section layout to show the private tools and sections
instead of the public tools and sections. You know have direct access to our
bug, task and assistance request lists from the header menu (see
http://www.doudoulinux.org/web/private/).

* The new Russian transliteration is on, hem, after a small downtime due to a
#!@%~ backslash… Thanks to all the people who reported the issue.

Communication
=============

* Sergey started to add DoudouLinux CD's to some Torrent sites. This may seem a
minor communication activity but not only this increases the distribution of
our CD, but also this increases our Google referencing. This is then a
communication activity we have to keep in mind for next release.

Support
=======

Nothing to say… but we still have many opened tickets in our bug/task lists.
