Hello,

This week was quite intensive on both translations and development. I'm
currently uploading the very latest builds that contain all the latest
translations and the latest bug fixes. I recall you that we now have 2 small
weeks to be ready for our new release, the 2011-02… Have a nice week!

Cheers, JM.

Team
====

* We welcomed a new Chinese contributor: Born. He's started with Transifex
while Benheng has started to translate our website.

* We also received our first request from an Italian for contributing: welcome
Salvatore!

Translations
============

Please remember that you should all have provided your translations for this
week in order to have them included in next release, the 2011-02. We're now
going to update our website…

* I received a lot of fresh PO files for Chinese (Benheng and Born), Romanian
(Marian), Spanish (Yago) and Russian (TSPU).

* Please don't forget to check icons of applications and categories. They are
*not* available on Transifex due to their incompatible format. You can get them
from our website in the tarballs of translation files and on SVN (directory
lang/trunk/env/icons/).

* Because of new entries in the menu of activities on the CD, 2 Transifex
resources have been updated: doudou-rewrite and doudoulinux-sessions. Please
update your translations!

CDROM
=====

We've done a lot of work since the previous release. However we are late and
we'll certainly have to remove another entry in our road map for this release
(a nice interface for the hardware issue report tool).

* Debugged the tool to set the menu of activities. It now correctly works and
should save the configuration as soon as any persistence is activated.

* Vkeybd is now translatable and translated.

* It is now possible to access files of other activities. For example in Whole
DDL you can browse and copy files from activities Mini DDL or TuxPaint.
Shortcuts are automatically created in the directory “Pictures” to directly go
to the Tuxpaint image directories (in the other activities).

* 2 new activities are available, although they're not completed. This is the
result of a collaboration with TSPU about pedagogy (Мила Герасимова?).
Configuration files for Childsplay and Gcompris are still missing.

* 1 new special activity: sound setting. When you remove all the advanced
activities from the menu (eg. Mini/Whole DDL), you still need a tool to set the
sound volume… This is the purpose of this “activity”.

* Opendict default dictionary is now set.

* DDL can now reuse a previous video configuration file when he detects that
this is the same hardware configuration (based on hardware signature).

* DDL forces Intel and nVidia video driver when he detects a quite recent video
chipset. This should solve cases where video hardware was not correctly
detected.

Graphics
========

No news this week due to unavailability. I'll meet our two drawers Elisa and
Benoît tomorrow afternoon in Paris to share ideas and setup a road map for
graphic design.

Website
=======

* Benheng proposed his first page for reviewing. Hem, I don't know who can
reread it, surely not me! Maybe should we create an account for Drawing and/or
Born? However I'm still checking links, adding icons, and so on :).

* Modified public pages: Team and contributors, Release notes. Please check
that you also have 25 contributors in your page!

* New private page: Releasing a new version (see
http://www.doudoulinux.org/web/private/), to be read as soon as possible!

* Fixed bogus page header in English section that was due to the new private
(English) section.

* Fixed Spanish texts in page layout (Yago).

Communication
=============

* Sergey posted a message in English on Debian.pl (Poland) and this lead to an
article on Linux.pl (see http://www.linux.pl/?id=news&show=5915).

Support
=======

* I received a mail from a Polish man who found a bug on his version: Gcompris
requires that at least the set of English sounds is installed. He confirms that
DDL is good for Polish people! He may also help us advertise in Poland :).

* I also received a mail from a French who is interested into adapting the DDL
interface to seniors :). However he first wants to port it to Ubuntu :(.
