Hello, I've discussed with Fayçal about the issue concerning the edition of right-to-left languages online on Transifex (eg. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian). It appears that Transifex is not using the proper Html tags in its pages to tell web browsers to render the text from right to left (property “dir” of value “rtl”). When doing so the RTL text is then correctly displayed but there may have inconsistencies when it is mixed with Latin characters rendered LTR (case of Html tags in the text to be translated).
I searched on the Transifex bug database and found that the issue has been reported months ago: http://trac.transifex.org/ticket/451 Unfortunately the proposed patches have never been included in the Transifex code base. Maybe it's more complicated to solve than expected (you have to move some pieces of the page from right to left too – or the opposite). In the meanwhile you can try to find some Firefox assistants for correctly typing RTL (it is existing for Arabic) or simply use a standard PO file editor. Please note that you can still post modified PO files on Transifex doing so. Cheers, JM. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
