Hello,

I'm currently rebuilding and uploading dailybuilds [1] to let you test
the new features of the future 2.0 as well as evaluate the remaining
translation effort to reach a good translation status for the final
release. The dailybuilds are numbered 2013-03-1x depending on the build
day.

The main new feature of these dailybuilds is the wide update of our
LiveUSB write tool. Since we will not build USB images anymore, the
process of making a LiveUSB device, explained on our blog [2], has
deeply changed. So I've updated our DDL tool to make it manage ISO files
with Grub2 on an USB device. This new version provides the following new
features:

* creates a LiveUSB device on a standard USB device, no reformatting is
achieved, the device can be used as usual afterwards, you can use your
8GB USB key without a second thought ;)
* can dump the running LiveCD onto the USB device, which means no need
to provide the ISO file, just launch DDL live!
* can have several ISO files on the same USB device, a boot menu is
created
* provides a script to update the Grub configuration when the ISO
file(s) has(have) changed on the USB device, which means updating the
system is nearly a simple ISO file copy
* detects any ISO file in user's home (first and second level
directories only) if the LiveCD is not detected as being running
* the ISO file of a running LiveUSB device is detected as well (you can
then make a LiveUSB device directly from a running LiveCD or a running
LiveUSB)

I invite you to intensively test this new tool. I recall that there is
*no* progress dialog while copying the ISO file onto the USB device. You
have to be patient and wait for the final dialog telling it's done.

Additionally the installer has been updated. Its algorithm to help the
user guess whether the computer internal clock is running UTC or local
time has been fixed and should now really work. Finally all the
translations have been updated from Transifex a week ago and the issues
that were preventing these updates to be visible in DDL have been
solved. The PDF documentation should be back on the CD too.

NB: there is currently a known issue with the installer. It removes the
DDL package that translates the main activity menu. This menu is then in
English. It's been fixed but may not be in the dailybuilds yet.

If you want to help develop the 2.0 Hyperborea, I recall that there are
many open tickets on Redmine [3][4] waiting for someone to do the job. I
did some ticket cleaning today and I still have to create tickets
concerning the documentation update on our website.
