1. Followed instructions to build USB key. Booted and persistence seemed to work. Then continued modifying grub.cfg and now it doesn't.
2. Rebooting worked fine, but the menu did not stay as configured. 3. Shut down doesn't seem to be working..., checking now: the Good-by screen (Hasta pronto) comes up and hangs around. Thought maybe it's writing the persistance file? I'll wait about 3 minutes, no. The graphic put up the Please remove CD and press Enter to continue. So, ... pressing Enter and it Halts completely, as expected. 4. Now to boot again. But menu is still full. I use "tux" the last time. 5. This time with Full Doudoulinux. Setting persistence takes a minute. OK, changed menu with 4 choices. Rebooting to check persistence. . 6. Nope. The menu is complete not changed.
