Hi, Sorry I can't spend much time on issues in this period. Currently I'm dealing with ARM emulation because I started to move DoudouLinux to Wheezy. And one of the reasons why we want Wheezy, is the armhf port of Debian (in wheezy and above only).

Indeed sound servers are quite useless except if you need jack, for real time audio. In our case we don't, the problem is elsewhere. Have you tried to launch Gcompris from the command line?
