It appears the the LaTeX cases environment is not correctly compiled since
there is no line break after the first line in the pdf output, but in the
html output (using mathjax) there is.
Here an example:

x=\begin{cases}
a & \varepsilon=0\\
b & \varepsilon=1\\
c & \varepsilon=2
\end{cases}
\f]
