Hi Michael,
How are you doing? Found myself in another jam. Trying to collaborate
with another developer and when we do 'Connection Test' we are both
getting an 'IO Exception Sending Data' error. When we try working
together on a project we are both getting 'Invitation was cancelled
locally because of aan error: Could not obtain the version of the Saros
plugin from ....' We are both using the latest.

Nonetheless, this is not necessary.
Open "Menu" -> "Saros" -> "Start Saros Configuration" for the
menu from
my previous screenshot.
Compare again login_gmail.png with what you see. (Click on the tiny
arrow to open the rest of the options)
Alternatively you can click on the down arrow of the connect
button at
the top right of the Saros view.
The menu opening up for you (see attachment) lists the option to
"Add
Account" leading to the same configuration.
In case you don't see the Saros view open "Menu" -> "Window" ->
"Show
view" -> "Other" -> "Saros" -> "Saros"
Did you also try creating a new account on
"saros-con.imp.fu-berlin.de <http://saros-con.imp.fu-berlin.de>" ?
That should work even without using Google's services.
