My thoughts on the "harmfulness" of the sandbox-step in the tutorial:
 * The sandbox branch needs to be kept up-to-date with the master branch,
everything else will avoid confusion about the (very) different code states.
 * The aspiring developers need to remember to switch to a different push spec
-- otherwise their first actual patches will end up on the wrong branch (and
will be based on way-too-old versions, see first aspect).

Living without the sandbox branch:
 * Pushing to "refs/for/sandbox" or to "refs/for/master" both results in a new
change in Gerrit. The global change counter will increase, the patch will be
built, and eventually abandoned. There is no meaningful difference.
 * Instead, these sandbox-patches could get a commit tag of their own, e.g.
"[TUTORIAL]" or "[SANDBOX]".

Before I remove that: Does anyone disagree? When first trying out Saros,
did you find the Sandbox guide helpful? (or harmful?)
