Category: Synchronisation / Invitation Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed >Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Karl Beecher (k_beecher) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Non-host inviting doesn't work Initial Comment: (Assumes bug 3472493 is fixed) Steps: 1) Alice invites Bob. Everything works fine and a session is begun. 2) Bob invites Carl. Carl accepts but there are problems: a) Carl's view of the user colours are wrong (Alice and Bob's colors are the same) b) Alice isn't informed that Carl was added to session and thus doesn't seem him. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alexander Waldmann (netcorps) Date: 2012-03-25 03:33 Message: Reopening as this issue was addressed, the bugs were fixed and the fix will be contained in a future release ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stefan Rossbach (kargor) Date: 2012-02-02 19:59 Message: As far as I know, when a non host user shares a project, he sends all project stuff to the othere participants. For a Server / Client apllication, this is wrong. I do not really know how the sync. is done afterwards. Adding projects to the session was a requirement, but i do not know if non host users are allowed to do this. But I think this was part of that requirement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alexander Waldmann (netcorps) Date: 2012-01-23 01:38 Message: This is good to know for me. It would only be consistent with the mental model of the users. In my usability tests, the users never expected to be able to invite users, they rather asked the host to do the inviting (though they were sometimes unsure who the host was, because they forgot). But i have to ask: will adding files/folders to the session by non-host users with writeaccess be removed/disabled too, to be overall consistent? If not this might be confusing to the users (why can i add projects, but not users), though i doubt it would have a noticable negative impact. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stefan Rossbach (kargor) Date: 2012-01-21 15:50 Message: Non host invite should not work. If this option is enabled then this is the bug. We have no req. that Saros should support such a behaviour. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=843359&aid=3476010&group_id=167540 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
