Category: User Experience Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Rejected Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: erosen (erosen) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: notification about other's recovery w/o own recovery Initial Comment: Getting a recovery resolution notification window from someone else and having an inconsistency myself (watchdog is highlighted) without being advised that the recovery is just for the other person, is somewhat irritating for me. Intuitively I would imagine that a recovery for someone else would also include or trigger a recovery for myself or at least an option to recover for myself if necessary. At the moment I get a recovery resolution notification window that informs me another participant has triggered a recovery. If I do not realize that my watchdog is highlighted then I remain with my inconsistency. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Stefan Rossbach (kargor) Date: 2012-12-17 10:03 Message: You already spotted the real problem:
If I do not realize that my watchdog is highlighted then I remain with my inconsistency.
As for your suggestion. NO automatic recovery. The user will get upset (angry) if an automated process changes file(s) content(s) ! Also popping up a (modal) dialogs out of nowhere is also not a solution. I will open a new bug with the problem you mentioned in your last sentence. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: erosen (erosen) Date: 2011-08-18 01:48 Message: When I say resolution notification I do not mean the warning about an inconsistency, but I mean the notification about the resolution of an inconsistency. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stefan Rossbach (kargor) Date: 2011-08-17 16:00 Message: More descriptions. You should not receive an inconsitency warning from "someone" else. The host is sync. the project. So only the host should send you such messages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=843359&aid=3392271&group_id=167540 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LogMeIn Rescue: Anywhere, Anytime Remote support for IT.
