I tried it (beta version) a few months ago and it broke my browser, so I uninstalled it. Most likely it's improved now, but I don't see any compelling reason to change to it since it didn't offer anything new or useful to me. DQSD is just the right tool for what I need and I prefer it to other quick search "solutions" because it doesn't take up any more vertical screen space (using dual screens and a tab-enabled browser frees up a lot of horizontal taskbar length even with multiple applications open) and it's customizeable. I use it at least 10 times/day.
Last time I looked, DQSD worked only on Windows machines though, so Google's similar product and Hotbot's authorized implementation of DQSD is undoubtedly of great use to searchers not using Windows.
