I've been dragging my butt with an optional installer. Primarily because the last word on the subject seemed like a bunch of tough work to do in NSIS... Some of which I'm not sure how to do... Like install a search (say a.xml) and then have NSIS rename it to a.xml_disabled based on some checkbox.
<Glenn Carr quote> I still think the optional installer script is good, but instead of options to install, make it have options to enable/disable searches. </Glenn Carr quote> Also not really sure how to create an installer that lists each search to check/uncheck without having to individually list each search. I'd rather be able to give NSIS searches\*.xml and have it parse and list each search for selecting/unselecting. Individually listing each search manually in NSIS would mean the install script would need to change every time a new search is added... perhaps too much overhead. Thoughts? Someone give me some good ideas and I'll try to jump on it... Though I'll be in crunch mode at work for the next 2 weeks and may not even want to look at a computer in the evenings.
