I thought I would post my obversations in helping someone get the DQSD fixed/upgraded in the hopes that it might help someone else who might be experiencing problems:
A relative of mine that I got hooked on the toolbar complained to me about errors coming from the toolbar just like the ones being reported to the list. I was able to connect to their machine via VNC to witness the problems first hand. The OS was Win98. The version being run was 2.5.7. I closed the toolbar, logged off and back on. Errors were then reported from the OS that the toolbar couldn't be found. Since the toolbar had been closed, I was surprised the toolbar was being reloaded after the logoff/on cycle. Obviously something didnt work right when the toolbar was closed. A new installation was attempted anyway, but this failed because DQSDTools.dll was in use.. I uninstalled the toolbar from the control panel applet. I rebooted the box. I installed version 2.5.8. The installation went without a hitch. and the toolbar was re-enabled. Everything is working normally now.. With the odd behavior before, I cant help but think that 2.5.7 had a flakiness causing the majority of the reported errors..
