Bob,

I'm not sure how it is counting lines. Other problem is: I have found that
if one of the js or local files is the problem the error is almost always in
search.htm so the reference may send you on a wild goose chase. Best wish
is that the ref to search.htm points to where the errant file is called.
Here's the hacker's way to find the troublesome line...

In search.htm add the following 2 lines:

<script>
</script>

then reload DQSD and run the test. Then edit search.htm to move those 2
lines further down in the file until you can finally see which line is the
trouble maker. Does this make sense? If not let me know... also let me
know if it doesn't work as well as I hope to help track down the offender.

Basically if you add these lines at the top the error should jump 2 lines to
14. Moving those lines down... when the error is in line 12 again, you just
passed the offender. I think this should work.

JB

Hi John,

I'm VERY comfortable in the registry. Not a problem.

Mine is set properly for MyIE2. SO that is not the key we are looking for.

Back to my original question for a moment. Can you tell me what is character
5
of line 12 of search.htm?? If I knew what to count including or not
including
comments, etc, I could find this. It must have a clue to the problem.

| OK Bob... WARNING only try this if you feel safe looking around in your
| registry... I only want you to look right now...
|
| Open regedit (can type 'run regedit' in DQSD)
| Look at HKey_Classes_Root and scroll down to the http section (mine is in
| second set of alphabetical listings)
| Then loook in shell folder.
|
| What do you see in there... Mine has a folder for Crazy Browser. If IE is
| trying to handle this there will probably be an IE key in there.
| Then look in the http\shell\open key... anything about IE in there? Mine
| does not.
|
| If you want you can send pics of what you see if you aren't sure.
|
| Let me know.

| That doesn't help, John.
|
| How strange, eh?

|
| | Hmm Bob. Would seem to me (especially since it works for the other
John)
| | that your MyIE2 isn't set as default in 1 place (the 1 place that
matters
| | here) deep down in your system somewhere or something. One more thought
| can
| | you try this...
| |
| | In your localprefs.js add this line, then save and reload DQSD:
| |
| | pagetemplate="maximized.htm";
| |
| | If you have a recent DQSD install this file should be in your DQSD
| | directory. Let me know if this helps... This causes a blank page to
get
| | loaded then redirected to the page for the search I am wondering if
this
| | might relieve the problem. It might not be the best solution, but it
| might
| | point us in the right direction.
| |
| | Thanks,
| | JB

| | Not sure if this has been said before, but I'm using MyIE2 and don't
have
