Thanks Shawn. Usually before I turn to this list I've exhausted every
troubleshooting step I can think of.  So far I have...

1. Made sure my entire \searches directory contained all the searches with a
.xml extension.
2. Rebooted after 1.
3. Made sure disabledsearches.txt did not exist.
4. Manually created a disabledsearches.txt file that was read/write enabled.
5. Made sure I am administrator on my PC (Win XP Pro with all patches... NOT
SP2).

At any step DQSD did not write to the file.  It wouldn't even create the
file if it did not exist.  It would apparently read from it because if I put
a search in it manually and then reloaded DQSD the search would be disabled.


Other thoughts?
