You're right, it's going against comics.com. But I've cleared the
browser cache (both 32bit and 64bit ie), and definitely replaced the
comx.xml. And reloaded with !, of course. And via the >> menu. And I'm
even getting the popup, so that's a sure sign it's not the original
comx.xml. 

I'm going to do a reboot in a few minutes.
