This may or may not help, but give this a try.
The z:\ is mapped to a network drive? Sometimes mapped drives can be
problematic. Try using a UNC path for the SSDIR instead of a mapped drive.
Whatever the z:\ drive is mapped to, use that full UNC path something like
\\machine\share\vsspath
In the draco.net config file instead.
