I believe the valve problem (25 hrs) on the VW engine is related to the solid
lifters rather than the number of ports. The street wisdom is that with solid
lifters you absolutely need to adjust them every 25 hours... hydraulic lifters
don't have that requirement. Also you might look into individual heads (used
to be marketed by HAPI and Mosler)-- bennitt may have them-- Ibelieve that
they are Scat parts which can then be modified for dual plugs if desired.
