Hi all
I spent the weekend finishing the bulkhead cutting process.
I am very perturbed as to the final shape of the upper seatback bulkhead and the canopy bulkhead.
The copy b/head seems to be 1/4" oversize on one side and slightly oversize on the other when mated up to the center line on the upper seatback b/head. This after very careful tracing of the pattern. I obviously have made an error somewhere.
I used the prefab bulkheads and all bulkheads were a bit oversize. IMHO I think this was a very good thing. It was quite easy to use a bench mounted belt sander to trim the bulkheads to shape. I would be worried if the bulkheads you fabbed were too small - it is easy to remove material, but hard to add it.
To rectify the problem before glassing, are the curved edges supposed to be the same dimensions or must one of the bulkheads be oversize in relation to the other and if so which one?
I confirm that the upper seat back b/head in my instance is of correct dimensions.
