The MystHaven Royal Guard clerk re-read the missive out loud to 1st
Guardsman Bartholomew Coshborne, who listened to his own words with a
pensive gaze at the center of the empty chair opposite the desk. He was
troubled greatly that he had to send such bad news to the del Riccoli family
in Algathar. Several times he'd asked if he might make the journey himself
to tell the family, but his requests were denied by those who outranked him.
How does one phrase such dreadful news? He had a daughter himself and
couldn't imagine losing her.

~We regret to inform you that your daughter, Senica del Riccoli, was
abducted (according to eye witness accounts) from her residence here in
MystHaven. Taken along with her was another Algatharian man, apparently by
the name of Muhittin. As no ransom note has arrived within the first week,
investigators doubt that there will indeed be a ransom and they suspect foul
play. Several leads are being developed further and we will keep you
informed. Should you wish to send a relative to the Isles to act as a
contact point, we would gladly include him or her in any developments.~

Coshborne nodded as he pulled himself from his daze, "Add...'The Mystonian
Royal Guard is working diligently to find your daughter and if you have any
questions, you may contact Bartholomew Coshborne.'" He stood up and reached
for his cloak.

"I'm off to speak to the other students in her field. Most of them have
returned from Winterfest break. Be sure that is sent by the standard courier
to Algathar."

As an afterthought, he grabbed some more of the flyers he'd made up
describing the young woman. It wouldn't hurt to have one in every shop
window.

The courier for Southpoint Shipping did as he said he would. He boarded the
ship sailing south over a two-week period to such countries as Algathar to
deliver messages. But instead of the Royal Guard-sealed letter from
Guardsman Coshborne addressed to the del Riccoli household, the courier
delivered two sealed missives addressed to the King of Algathar. One was
from his trusted advisor, Muhittin Sargozimen, and the other was from his
daughter, Senica del Riccoli.
