Thoran fell through a dark, metal shute for a brief moment and found himself flying
through the air in the darkness. He landed harshly into a wooden box, which began to
roll forward slowly as he lay mashed against its bottom, stunned, but not in pain. A
part of him wondered why he wasn't feeling any pain.

That part of him was replaced with the realization that he was slowly moving forward
inside a mining cart, in pitch blackness.

Clen Throan drew in a breath as he tucked his feet and wings into the cart. Just lay
low, he thought to himself, lay low and hope that the track doesn't end.

His movement rate increased slightly and became slightly faster by the minute. He
felt himself turn slightly. He was going downhill and in a spiral. Soon he felt the
wind blowing over the top of his cart.

Then, abruptly, the cart came to a halt and he was thrown from his basket and against
a torchlit stone wall with a thump. Again, he was seriously stunned. Again, he felt
no pain.

He brought himself up to a sitting position against the stone wall. The torches
above him did not light the ceiling nor the other walls of the chamber around him, but
it did light the large wooden door next to him.
