DA: "Good evening grubball fans and welcome to another edition of Grubball Tonight.  I am Dern Arnak and with me as always is our grubball analyst and former forschbowler, Westin Tarbral.  A busy night in Hornath as the battle for first place continues and two games just needed a little more time to work things out.  Let's start in Tralazir, Angelsin coming to town and both teams at 2-6 on the year.  Edwin the Champion started out the scoring on both sides with his first quinting point on a pass from Kylus Sarthras.  They would later hook up again in the third.  Rex the Slightly Above Average was far greater than his name, having a career night with 2 points and 1 helper, though it was in a losing effort.  Angelsin wins behind Edwin, Kylus and the defense of forschbowler Tred the Lazy who had 29 kills.  Final score: Angelsin 5, Tralazir 4.
DA: "To Gessihorna, the Keepers in town and looking to again settle at .500 on the year coming only a game in the win column away from that goal.  In their way, the pesky grubballers of the Gessi.  Goren the Sly, who was signed earlier in the year after the tragic death of Branth Perlegi, has been nothing short of spectacular for this Arankeep team, scoring again tonight.  Sarla Flinod would score the game-winner in the fourth quinting as the Keepers move to .500 once again.  This is the first time in a while that they have been even across the board this late in the year and find themselves in playoff contention with the new system.  Arankeep wins, 2-1.
DA: "Molentia Circle...Home of the Islanders who find themselves only a game in the loss column out of first place, tied with Drache with 14 points on the year.  A seemingly easy game against Bralk Lakrath, but as we all learn, nothing comes easy.  The visitors broke out to a quick lead, scoring on three of their first four attempts against Ware the Vile, but Gorben the Smooth stuck with the veteran who has shown incredible play in the past few weeks.  He would finish with 36 kills on the night, allowing only one more scoring chance after that.  Marnuth the Regular had one point and one assist for Bralk Lakrath, but the powerhouse that is MystHaven wouldn't give up.  Hinterplodder/coach Gorben the Smooth had one point and one assist and Anika Conrad also scored once, keeping her out in front of the league with twelve points on the year.  Io Balzek, Branth the Needy and Jesiah Blanchard each all added points as MystHaven, in a come from behind effort, wins by a score of 5-4.
DA: "The Clash of the Titans.  Undefeated Drache visiting undefeated Hornath ul-Marfed.  Both teams picked right at the top of the league at the start of the year and neither team has shown signs of disappointing.  Both teams have stellar forschbowlers, Kota the Wolf for Drache in his second season and veteran Yarnot for the Hornathians.  Something has to give.  Kylus of the North took the opening tipoff directly at the Wolf, who quickly showed him the ground.  The two would meet several times throughout the rest of the night and it wasn't until the fourth quinting that Kylus of the North finally got the best of the Drachean forschbowler, scoring his first point of the night and tying the score at 1-1.  Huixon the Brave would score shortly thereafter, giving Drache a lead that they would never relinquish, winning by a final of 3-1, despite Kota the Wolf having a career low 16 kills in the contest.  Westin, the Wolf shows that he is human with such a low kill count tonight."
WT: "Yes and no, Dern.  If you look at the tipoffs and actual scoring chances, Drache dominated this game, having over 40 more possessions than Hornath ul-Marfed.  Granted, it was a career low in kills, but not something that's going to bother him.  He gave up only one scoring chance that was later converted and that was to Kylus of the North.  So, you look at 16 out of 17 chances for a kill as opposed to say 20 or 21 chances and it was still a solid performance, just less opportunities for him to be involved.  The Drache defense helped in that as well with 82 kills.  If anything, this was a team effort which is what this team needs since there are a lot of individuals involved.  A lot of Drache players are on various leaderboards, but getting them to not think about that and think as one unit is what they need to do if they plan to win again this year.  Sometimes, the worst thing that can happen is for players to be among the league's elite.  It puts a lot of undue pressure upon those players."
DA: "And there is extreme pressure on these players, Westin.  Tabloids even as earlier this week, Kota the Wolf was accused of throwing games.  Either they are trying to predict something of the future or they just aren't paying attention to the season.  My vote is for the latter, personally.  So, Drache wins by a score of 3-1, moving them to 8-0 and Hornath ul-Marfed drops to 6-1 which leaves them in third place behind Drache, MystHaven and Galanor, who was at home tonight against the Dire Sheep of the Vale.
DA: "Lor the Inbred had 37 kills for the Valemen, including eight in the sixth quinting.  Gratte Tegar and Yagel Irben each scored for Galanor and after six quintings, the score remained tied at 2 a side.  With the tie, Galanor moves up into second place, three points behind both Drache and MystHaven, while Sresar Vale is now in an interesting three-way tie for third place in the standings.
DA: "Another of those third-place teams is Mhernettla, finding themselves in a big battle with Ruthmarna United.  Bralk Glostage had two points and one assist, Elythan Bluemoon had two helpers and Fenduth the "People Are" Strange had 32 kills for the Korthai grubballers.  Ware the Brown and Del Nege each had a point and an assist in the contest and Bralk Marnell had two helpers as well, but their combined efforts were not enough.  Mhernettla wins 6-5, improving their record to 6-3.
DA: "Another nail-biter in Sivriana and Peraltok Valley pushed the Sivriana grubballers to an extra quinting before finally falling by a score of 5-4, leaving them still winless on the year.  Forg the Fartable scored twice and had one assist in the win.  And that's all there is tonight, folks.  Next games on Wednesday of next week, the teams getting a bit more of a break between games.  Until then, I am Dern Arnak and for Westin Tarbral, I bid you all a grubball evening.  Good night, folks."
