As the evening sun began to set near Kishant, the shadows that lurked
within the thick forest grew longer and deeper, dappling the
newly-budding trees with a blend of fading sunlight and splashes of
gloom. It was eerily quiet now, the sweet song of the birds beginning
to hush while twilight settled upon the hushed forest, and the silence
seemed to take on a depth all of its own.

Khelti stole a quick look over her shoulder to the huge man that lurked
behind her in the gathering gloom. Clad in a long mottled robe of dusty
brown just as she was, the fellow easily blended into the growing
darkness, and the young cleric smiled faintly at the wisdom hed
displayed in choosing their garb for the task that still lay at hand.

Are you sure youre ready for this, Virtue? Khelti whispered to Ciyan
with a quick flash of a smile. While her words were faintly teasing,
the intensity of her dark, velvety gaze was anything but. She knew just
as well as he did that their mission was a dangerous one, could even
result in the death of either or both of them, yet the challenge that
marked her determined gaze showed she was more than willing to accept
that risk.

Meeting a small section of the Wyvern gang on their own in an attempt
to discover identities and names might have seemed foolhardy to many,
but each sector of the clandestine group that met in an effort to
eradicate the gang from existence had its own goal. This was theirs.
At Ciyan's curt nod in response to her question, Khelti gave him a wink
and another quick smile before turning her attention once again to the
empty forest glade that lay before them.

The set up had been easy. A small cache of weapons bound in leather
wrappings was discreetly placed upon the ground in the forest opening,
and Ciyan knew that once the gang members arrived to make the deal all
they had to do was steal from their hiding spots and spend a few
moments wheeling and dealing with the thugs. Memorizing their faces
should be easy, and perhaps the gods would be kind in allowing a few
names to slip forth.

Make the deal, hand over the weapons and melt away into the darkness
once again to report back to Mule and the others. Should be easy
enough, Khelti mused to herself and she and Ciyan settled down to
await the Wyvern gangs arrival.
