DA: "Good evening grubball fans and welcome to another edition of Grubball Tonight.  I am Dern Arnak and with me as always is our grubball analyst and former forschbowler, Westin Tarbral.  We are roughly one-third of the way through this 472 season and already, there is talk about who will see the postseason as well as who will be found on the North-South rosters in just a few weeks.  Most of the names are commonplace for the mid-season classic, but there are a few newer names to be noted.  One of them, Anika 'the Goddess' Conrad from MystHaven.  Still technically a rookie since she did not get a chance to play enough games last season and right now, she is tops in the league in points scored with 14, four better than any other player in the league.  Also from MystHaven, another rookie by the name of Io Balzek looks to make his bid for the All-Star game.  Goren the Sly of Arankeep, Huixon the Brave of Drache putting up career numbers in pretty much every facet of the game, Gratte Tegar of Galanor, Franco the Sleek and Saemon of Ruthmarna, despite their teams average spot in the standings and of course, many others that are still trying to get their names on that prestigious roster.  The bids continue tonight, both for personal gain as well as for the teams trying to reach a more open post-season.  We start in Hornath ul-Marfed where Tagrana Memorial is home to take on the Keepers who, of late, have been playing with a definite purpose.  We mention Goren the Sly earlier and once again tonight, he scores a point late in the third quinting which ends up being the game-winner.  Elythan scored his first point of the season and added his fourth helper on the campaign and Arankeep doubles up Tagrana 4-2.
DA: "To Bralk Lakrath, Peraltok Valley trying desperately to get a notch in the win column and as with all good things that come to an end, eventually so do all bad things and tonight, in impressive fashion, Peraltok Valley does end their winless streak for this season at eight games, defeating Bralk Lakrath by a score of 4-1.  Dorn Sarktuka had one point and one assist for the Valley who keeps themselves from starting off to their worst record ever with the win tonight.  In the fourth quinting, Marnuth the Regular scored his sixth point.  Not in one game, of course, that would be a record.  Bralk Lakrath falls to 2-8 on the season with this loss.
DA: "Ruthmarna United visiting the city on the Darien, undefeated and defending Arlok Cup champion Drache.  Drache came at them at all angles, scoring five points in the first three quintings and claiming a lead that would not even be close to overtaken.  Kota the Wolf had 24 kills as well as one helper on a pass to Sir Den Bedwyre who scored his seventh point of the season.  Den 'Why the Long Face?' Horsehead tallied his eighth helper of the year as Drache wins, 5-2.
DA: "In Galanor, the Islanders of Myst were in town and with them, Anika 'the Goddess' Conrad.  Anika hooked up with Gorben the Smooth once and Arving Brons once as well as she scored twice on the night, giving her a league-leading 14 points on the year.  To call her play astounding is an understatement."
WT: "'The Goddess' could not be a more appropriate nickname for this woman who, as was stated earlier in the broadcast, is still technically considered a rookie.  She has now played in the ten games needed to qualify as a season and really, I see no reason why she will not become one of the greatest to play the game at hinterplodder.  Studying under Gorben the Smooth has helped her immensely this year and you couldn't ask for a better player/coach to be helping you along and the work has paid off.  She won't be breaking any records this season, but she is and will continue to make a name for herself around the league.  Already, you see defenses trying to key in on her on the field and more times than not, she will go right through them."
DA: "MystHaven looks to be one of the most-balanced teams in the league, especially now with the much improved play of forschbowler Ware the Vile, but you do wonder, will MystHaven look to shop around for a more experienced forschbowler in the coming weeks as they push for the Arlok Cup?"
WT: "A lot of teams will be shopping around, especially now that there are more spots open.  Teams with a solid defense could look to upset some of the higher-powered offensive teams come playoff time.  You look at a few names around the league and three stick out in my mind more than the rest.  Tul with Fists of Steel is in the last year of his contract with Arankeep.  Of course, with the way he has been playing and the team in general, I do not look to see him changing sides.  I think that Arankeep will do whatever it takes to keep him in their circle for the next few years, especially if they show a chance of making the playoffs by this season's end.  Oryan Vanhest, also from Arankeep, is one name that could come up as a possible trade.  He played in only one game this year so far, but it was a shutout.  He could very well be a hidden gem just waiting to awe the world with his magnificence.  And the last name and Dern, I cannot comprehend what would happen should this deal ever go through, but Kota the Wolf of Drache.  He's also in the last year of his two-year contract and I guarantee that a lot of teams will be looking to buy out the rest of that contract on the chance that he will be the key to the Arlok Cup.  He's putting up career numbers as well and while he's only been in the league a couple years, his numbers put some legends to shame.  Kota, Anika, Gorben the Smooth, Jesiah Blanchard, Arving Brons and Rue Denali...that right there has Arlok Cup and really, a serious push for the IGA championship written all over it.  The next few weeks should be very interesting, Dern."
DA: "If you're a grubball fan from a city other than MystHaven, you hope and pray that the last deal doesn't come to be.  Not to say that the Islanders would be invincible, but they would be about as close to that as possible.  Other scores from around the rest of the league.  Sivriana defeats Gessihorna 6-2.  Forg the Fartable scored twice for the Sivriana team.  Hornath ul-Marfed beats Sweet Milly 4-3, Kylus of the North with two points as well.  The Dire Sheep of the Vale win again on the road, beating Tralazir 5-2.  Dalt the Common had two points and Lor the Inbred had 29 kills.  That's all for us tonight, folks.  For Westin Tarbral, I am Dern Arnak bidding you all a grubball evening.  G'night, folks."
