Hello Sterling.. Interesting thought.. I think all of us "boatanchor" types have considered this.. The conclusion I have come to personally is to keep my Collins, Drake, and other vintage stuff, even with the thought in mind of picking up a "junker" as a parts donor unit for each of them.. But to be able to stay on the air, while the vintage stuff is on my repair bench, I still have a modern Kenwood transciever also, so that at least something is always operational...!!! So far, I have been able to come up with some kind of substituted or "scrounged" part to maintain the old stuff electronically, and the mechanical things can usually be "kluged" or fabricated somehow.. Keep your old radios.. I think you would miss them very much if you let them go!! regards.. Jim K2NP --
