I've kept the same TR-7 (modified by Drake to an A) and an L-4B since the late 1970s. It receives as well as anything I've heard. The amplifier still has the original tubes...don't tell me I haven't used it...I got to the top of the DXCC Honor Roll with it. My station is not for sale.
