HI, I'm a "first-timer" on the list, but have viewed your discussions and enjoyed the comments and help you all provide. Here's my problem/question; I've Caig Lab "R5/Pro-Gold'd" 'pots, connectors, antenna-bulb, xtals,tube-pins & sockets,and switches in my 'TR4. Now that the bandswitch has been "degunked" it's gotten very stiff and i'm afraid that if I force it 'thru the positions i'll bust some contact tabs. What is the best kind of lubricant to apply (sparingly, I know!!) to the contact surfaces on the switch wafers to smooth-out it's functioning??? Part two of this submission is a possible remedy for slight audio hum from both speaker and headphones. Hum is very low-level 'thru speaker when AF gain is at minimum position, and not really a problem when 'gain is advanced to normal listening volume, but when headphone listening, hum is much more noticable. hook-up my JPS NIR-10 between 'TR4 and speaker, the hum is gone from the speaker (even when dsp unit is in "bypass" mode), but is still present via the TR4's 'phone jack. Is a bit of low level hum normal in the TR4's audio, and if not, any thoughts as to a cause and cure? Tnx in advance, Steve
