Thanks to W8UT, WB0IQK, N5KAE, and any others who sent off hints and cures for my low-level hum from ms-4/'tr4, and bandswitch wafer 'lube questions. 'Will lube just the 'switch detent with high temp grease to prevent dripping, and will install 3 prong ac cord and improve the ground connections to earth, and between ac-4 and 'tr4. Will have to check ac-4 'caps eventually, but am considering a complete overhaul or rebuild of p/s. I'm concerned that the 2 ac-4's I have are getting a bit "long in the tooth", and the consequences of component failure in the ac-4 could destroy 'tr4 components. As an offhand question, is there anyone/business out there that is building and selling ac-4 "clones" from the "ground up" utilizing new (not "nos"), contemporary components with "prevention" circuitry? Cost?!! Presently, my time is at a premium, and if a reasonably priced, well engineered/built unit!
