I've seen various clubs do this. They get a bunch of members to agree that they want to build the item, and then they order all the parts in one order, thereby saving some because they can get bulk prices. They also have the support to get things going because there are a number of people building all at once to consult with. I don't know if Steve will give us the artwork file for the PCB, but if he would, or if he won't and we redo it, we may be able get a better deal than FAR Circuits is giving for PC boards, and we may be able to get better quality too. If we program our own PICs then we may be able to do it for less than FAR Circuits. There are costs though. Someone has to kit up all the parts, send them out, keep track of who has paid, etc.

homebrew replacement for the FS-4. It looks good indeed. I would like
to suggest that this group might want to do a group kit build on this
project. It looks to me like the price could be around $100 which is a
whole lot better than the $500 going price for an FS-4 on ebay. What
do you all think?
