Peter,
I'll post something soon. Tomorrow I set up my T4XC with the D104 and a W2IHY 8-band EQ with noise gate.
The experiment should be interesting.
I use a Ten-Tec Studio One mic with the W2IHY EQ for my TenTec Orion and Icom 746PRO and it works wonders.
I expect the Drake will sound better than the Icom and at least as good as the Orion. An interesting 3-way test.

Would like to solicit ideas and opinions on use of speech
compressors/processors/amps with the D104 and T4XC:

Have fellows tried the kind that can be built into the base of the D104?
Results?

Have you fellows tried other types of compressors/processors/amps? Results?

Which brands/types can you recommend?

Especially interested in "on air" comparisons: When you turn the
amp/processor/compressor on and then off, what does the fellow at the other
end have to say?

In general, do "listeners at the other end" prefer the sound of a T4XC and
D104 with a processor/compressor/amp?

Tks es 73s,

Peter
