Hello,

If you guys have been following me since I first signed on last week, you know that I got back an old TR-4 that I gave a friend sometime back.

I was trying to work out a few minor problems and blew the radio. My friend said he knew a guy who could fix it, so since I got the radio for free, I just passed it along.

Well, I ran into my old friend and he gave me the radio back. It was still non operational. With the help of this list, I was able to get the TR-4 to light up and even got the receiver working.

Now I am working on the transmitter section. I found tonight that if the radio is connected to a tunable dummyload, any severe mismatch will start to make it put out RF. It is 50 watts ref and 50 watts forward. It is running 200 ma on the meter.

This is very strange. I tried to adjust the tuning cap in the amplifier cage and all I was able to do was to make the power drop back to 0.

Anybody got any ideas ?
