"VE3AX" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterence to the drakelist gang
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jim:

This sounds similar to the problem I am having with an R-4B I was trying to
get running last night. Things improved after changing out some leaky tubes
and I can get the 1.35 volts at TP-2 in the R-4B, but I am still having the
zeroing and max S-meter deflection symptoms you describe. S meter rises
about 3 s-units in AGC OFF position after "zeroing" (just!) in slow/fast
positions and that happens only if I crank the S meter zero pot to the end
of its range. All resistors, diodes, voltages in that area check OK. S
meter sensitivity will bring the meter to only about 20db over S-9 at the
end stop of its range.

Please post the suggestions when Garey answers you. Listening Garey???!!!

Thanks and 73

Peter
