Well that narrows it down pretty good!

As for 10M, there is only one crystal that was "stock", and that was for the 28.5 - 29.0 MHz range. 28.0 - 28.5, (the "good" part of the band!,) needs a 39.1 MHz crystal.

The 20M crystal seems to be the "first one to go", kinda like the 40M crystal in the 2-B. If you have a general coverage receiver or a counter you should be able to hear or see the HF oscillator running on 25.1 MHz when the bandswitch is in the 20 position. That's really about the only feasible failure, since that crystal is the only difference between the bands. It's possible you have a shorted trimmer, a bent piece of wire, or bad/broken bandswitch contact associated with it, but a LOT less likely than a bad crystal. You can yank the 25.1 MHz crystal out of the receiver and try it in the transmitter. They are the same.

OK, I see why no 160meters, don't have any accessory xtals installed...

Well thanks to Garey K4OAH and Jay Af2C, I've made some progress getting my T4X back to health (long story, but I bought it and an R4A a few years ago, and havent been able to spend much time on them til now).

I found my adjustable 100 ohm 225 watt resistor, got it set for 50 ohms, hooked that up to the "alternate" connector on my MN4,
and also worked with the injector trimmers in the T4X.

Current status:
80M, 40M, my MN4 now reports 120 watts or so output
on 15M I get maybe 80 watts output.

Some good QSOs, with good signal reports.

160M, 20M, 10M, nothing, nada, and adjusting the injection trimmers gives no joy. All crystals seem to be present and accounted for.
On these bands not hint of a signal in the receivers.

Any obvious things to check ?

Thanks much, Chuck, K1OM
