DW,
You can use almost any Q multiplier that is designed for the same IF freq. I had a Heathkit QF1 (I think that was the model) attached to the 2B I had at one time. I have not had a 2CQ, but based on the schematic, it would look like it is the same (give or take) as the 2BQ. You of course will need to "tune" the Q-multiplier for the rig. Each rig's slight circuits variations require the Q-multiplier to be adjusted for that rig, after which they work as advertised.

There are also "Q'x-er" (I think that was the name) which Drake made for use with any 455Khz IF receiver (almost all were in those days) that works great with the 2B. You can often find those at Hamfest very inexpensively. That is what I finally had with my 2B when I sold it. I like the 2B, but at some point there is just not enough room and time. It went to a good shack.

Ron

Hello,

I have a quick question. Will a Drake 2-CQ from a 2-C work with a 2-B receiver?

Thank you in advance for your help.
