Thanks for the info and your time. It's really just CW contesting that I want to improve. I like the idea of the CF/600 but I don't want to fool around with replacing the switch, adding SSB filters, etc. I'm perfectly content with the operation of the rig on SSB where all I do is chew the rag with a few old cronies. I'd be inclined to get the CF/600 if I could easily switch between it and the stock filter. What's the story on using extra Mode-switch contacts? That sounds interesting.. BTW, I have a full set of 2nd IF filters, a 1.8, 0.5 and 0.25. Oh, and the Noise Blanker too, although I don't often have the kind of noise it works on so I don't suppose I'll miss it if I go to the CF/600 on CW.
