There is an AC outlet on the DC-4 to plug the R-4B into. The 115VAC is at ~350 Hz, which is the frequency of the solid-state inverter, and is just another winding on the inverter transformer. I've never seen a DC-3, and don't know if it's a vibrator or solid-state inverter.

The DC-4 is probably about as efficient as a modern-day inverter power supply, and almost certainly more efficient than an inverter / AC-4 power supply for the real power required for the transmitter.

Question about DC-3 or DC-4...

Wondering how the 110VAC is supplied to an R-4any from the supply.  Also,
i'm wondering if the DC-x supplies are more efficient than using an
inverter to power a set of twins.
