Randy, I hope you get some MUCH more informed answers than mine, but to answer your question quickly   "NO"!!  Do not use anything other than the high voltage wire and connectors you have already on the Drake.  It is designed to handle the voltage, while smaller wire and an RCA connector would not handle it.  You may need to find some help if you are not familiar with this type wire and connectors, but I'm sure your connector can be repaired, or at worst, replaced.  Wait till some of the more expert Drakesters check in, with ideas (maybe even pictures of the procedure) but be safe, and don't substitute anything for what you need. 73, Don, WB5HAK
