Nope, never have ... primarily because I exercise the same cautions with eBay and PayPal as with any business transaction because those two provide exactly the same level of risk as any other business transaction presents including a Hamfest deal, or a deal made across a reflector like this one.
And you SAY that both have happened to you ... really? What was the Police Case Number? ... I wanna research it coz frankly Thom I simply find your claim kindda incredible [see Thom, if you applied a healthy dose of skepticism to your eBay / PayPal transactions, the way I am to your stories, you wouldn't get burned so easily]. Thom, no where in any of your rants about eBay & PayPal have I seen you present ANY track-able or traceable or document-able facts to substantiate your claim that the police acted on your behalf against an eBay seller. It sounds to me like you personally don't care for eBay and that you've decided to use your reflector-soapbox to fabricate a bunch of stories to advance your personal OPINION and you KNOW that none of what you're telling us can be fact checked or authenticated. And, last time I checked eBay & PayPal sites appear to be thriving despite your best efforts to slander them. So, for me personally, I think you are full of it on this whole eBay & PayPal thing and none of what you say has swayed my own perspective on the topic, except to diminish any of YOUR credibility on the subject in my eyes. > > > And, if saying so gets me un-subscribed from ANY darn list, I doubt > I'd > notice except fewer E-Mails to wade thru on a daily basis. > > Did I say it would? Really? And we should take your word for that, why? Coz this is your list perhaps? Your personal soapbox? You can't disprove anything unless you present some PROOF of your own, and you haven't presented any proof, just more hot-air claims with no facts to back them. So you haven't disproved anything, you're claim to having disproved is simply incorrect. > >> Please, someone "sue-me" for the 29 eBay transactions I've done on eBay >> ... I suggest you try doing the same so you're not taken advantage of as you claim happened before. Meanwhile Thom, how about you provide some documentation to support all your claims of having the Police "take care of the seller", etc. Once I see the documentation that substantiates your claims that a local police agency brought charges against an eBay seller on your behalf ... I'll believe you. Oh, I'll still go on using eBay and PayPal, but I'll stop believing as I do right now, that your whining about eBay is just so much hooey. As for how you'll "make a bargain" with me, I'll make you a wager ... I bet that eBay AND PayPal will out last you, me and your reflector list. Cheers & Beers!
