Why use the amp at all when you don't need it?  It provides another point for
the possible introduction of noise, distortion, and RF feedback.  The D104
cartridge has plenty of output to drive a TR7 through a 470K in the base of
the mic + the 470K in the radio - mine drives my SP75/TR7 better than a Heil
ProSet Plus.  'Tis the season, make a unique Christmas tree ornament out of
that amplifier.
