The MN-2000 came in all three of the Drake 4 Series finishes. It came out in 1966, two years before the advent of the B-Line with it's epoxy paint, and so would have had the smooth enamel finish of the R-4A and earlier pieces. It also had the bare aluminum border around the front panel edges.

It got the "textured" epoxy finish of the B-Line around 1968, and then the "spackle" finish of the C-Line in 1973, along with the "borderless" front panel paint.

So you could paint it with either enamel or epoxy if it has the front panel border - OR - with the spackle finish of the C-Line if it has the borderless front panel and you'd be correct!

While we are talking about Drake paint finishes, would somebody please
confirm that MN-2000 was originally shipped with a smooth finish?
