"Al Parker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- yup, somebody did. I've done it, it works fine. Dunno if you can get anything like that at R-S anymore, but you get the idea. ============================ from Drake Mods (09 Nov, 1996) Antenna Fuse Bulb
This is located inside the final cage and is a #12 bulb. A #12 is 6 volts at 150 ma - exactly the same as a #47, but with a different base. This bulb is a bit silly, for it will take well over a watt of RF to open it. By then, the receivers ruined anyway, most likely. If you really want this protection (its good Stupid Insurance), pull the bulb and put a Radio Shack peanut bulb (6 V at 50 ma or so) across the terminals. The cold resistance of this bulb will not affect the receiver adversely. ============================== 73, Al, W8UT New Bern, NC BoatAnchors appreciated here http://www.boatanchors.org http://www.hammarlund.info ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Stinson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Bill Maddock" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, February 10, 2007 7:46 AM Subject: Re: [drakelist] Where to purchase #12 bulbs > > "David Stinson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Bill Maddock" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [drakelist] Where to purchase #12 bulbs > > > > I have a Drake TR4C that need a replacement #12 bulb for reciever section. > I currently > > have a piece if wire jumping it off which allows the reciever to > operate, but offers > > no protection... > > The #12 bulb didn't provide much protection, either. > Didn't someone mention a better substitute some time ago? > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > Submissions: [email protected] > Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body > Hopelessly Lost: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message > Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Submissions: [email protected] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------
