Well it seems that the supply has went south i have lost biasing
probably a bad cap. Here is the funny thing when i grabbed another
supply know to work the rig cycled in and out of transmit six times each
time it did this the neon lamp that never works on the receiver flashed
on and off . Very strange It now works at the cost of my 6jb6's they
went south I swapped out the vox tube for a know good tube as well So
all is working again but the bad supply . Funny thing is I just had the
diodes replaced in it .
I wonder if a bad cap was weakening other components in the supply . The
tubes i replaced were a old pair of 6jb6's I knew they worked but
thought they worked at 70% or so at best but after adjusting the bias on
the other supply I now see a nice bit of output when tuning into my
dummy load. So the lesson learned here is the transmitter stays off
unless I'm here with it .
Thanks all for your help this group is a tremendous wealth of knowledge
and a great asset to its users.. best 73 to all

Ted -
1. Check the bias supply. A failure in the bias supply can severely
damage the transmitter & power supply, even if the transmitter is in
standby.
If bias voltage is ok, (verify Final stage idle current is, or can be
set to, 0.1A).
2. Try another 6EV7.
3. Bridge C129 with a good electrolytic.
If still a problem, report back!

Hi Guys
My twins have developed a problem . The transmitter rite after warm
up goes into transmit and will not come out unless I turn it off . Is
this a common problem ?? It is new to me as my drakes are the pride
of my fleet over here and this is very frustrating to me not knowing
what or how to fix such a dilemma!!
Does any one have any suggestions??
tnx Ted
