The problem is in the "unwanted" spurious mixer products with the 21.1
MHz crystal. Too many oscillators at 5.355 MHz PTO for 10.1 MHz, 5.645
Carrier Oscillator, etc. Check the crystal chart in the T-4XB or T-4XC
manual for "recommended" and "forbidden" areas around 10 MHz. 21.1 is
fine for the receiver, (as long as you don't transceive,) but not for
the transmitter.

Bob,
I'm not understanding why 21.1 would not be the correct crystal for
30m??? In the Drake scheme, that would be 10.0 to 10.5 megs, and the
dial would read correctly. Am I missing something? 20.8 would be 9.7
to 10.2 and the dial would have to be a guessing game, unless I'm all
messed up tonight.
