Yes....that's the way I did it for years..
If you make use of an antenna tuner, the same concept applies....listen for
a signal and adjust the tuner for the strongest receive signal....and then
when you have a better than guess match, you can follow the procedure you cited.
Not only will you be nice to the finals, transfer more power out, but you'll
hear more better.
