"Ron Baker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I sent out this notice about my refurbishing article I have received
well over 100 e-mails with questions. Because of the volume and time
constraints I probably will not be able to respond back to everyone, but
thank you for your great comments.

I do need to add a disclaimer in regard to the article. The refurbishing
process is 99.9% technique, with a lot of cleaning methods developed over
the last 30 or so years. For all those individuals who are thinking they
can take their nice working Drake radio off the shelf, remove the case, and
put it in a dish washer for 30 minutes, expecting to have a like new looking
and still working radio, they are sadly mistaken. At best you will
probably ruin the radio and likely do permanent damage. Leave the
serious refurbishing and restoration work to those qualified.

Subject: Drake Refurbishing

All, some of you may know that I do refurbishing work on vintage Drake &
Collins equipment. Actually I have been doing this since the mid 1970's.
Several ham has asked me to put together an article on my refurbishing
process. While on vacation this week I finally finished that article. It is
now available with lots of pictures. Take a look if you have interest.
